Bengal Tiger
Veolia, the environmental waste management company commissioned Faith to create a life size Bengal Tiger using recycled materials. The Tiger was created in her studio in Liverpool using over 300 plastic milk bottles! Over 400 hours were spent washing, cutting, colouring and attaching the plastic tiger 'fur' to create the 2.5 metre long sculpture. It was on display at St Pancras International Station, London throughout March 2013, as part of 'Tiger Tracks' the worlds biggest tiger conservation event. Yes, that is Brian May from Queen standing in front of it, as he played at the launch! She also got to meet Virginia McKenna who starred in 'Born Free' the film some years ago and supports the charity of the same name. Wild tigers will be extinct in the next ten years unless we act now! After a busy few years promoting recycling for Veolia Environment and helping launch the Save the Wild Tiger campaign the 'Veolia Tiger' recently visited Faith's studio for a makeover! Following cleaning and restoration work the Tiger has now returned home to Veolia's HQ in Pentonville Road, London.
