Imagine Bamboo
is Everywhere
I have developed an innovative new structure using bamboo. The Pod is an organic geodesic interactive shape inspired by bamboo under the microscope. The new work is for Imagine Bamboo is Everywhere! a large project which is part of Liverpool City Region Cultural Events programme. Local residents, young climate leaders and artists from across Liverpool City Region came together with engineers and bamboo specialists from four continents to explore bamboo as a sustainable material for the future. Delivered by outdoor arts company Imagineer with artistic director Orit Azaz, the huge structures appeared in each of the six local authority areas, along with performances, music and craft workshops at outdoor events. Before Imagine Bamboo is Everywhere there was Bridge2Bamboo R&D. In summer 2022 I led community workshops creating hyperbolic towers and playing with bamboo to explore ideas.
